Hi all,
as Stephen approved my entry even without pictures of the early stages, here is my stuff again:
I started my Eduard Fokker Dr.I on monday and as I was in the flow I did not take photos of it (so far). This is the present state:
As you can see I have build the jig form the Pheon decal set. The cowl with engine is just clipped on... great fit. Honestly I had not thought that a small kit like this would be so much work. Due to the multi coloured nature of the markings you have to plan a lot when to assemble and paint what .. not my preferred style of model building
More to follow soon (I hope).
all the best
Steffen

Thank you Stephen!
I just put on the wheels. Yesterday was a bit challenging as it took me 7 or 8 trys to get the bracing wires on (one went like a charme but the other fought back ) .. sadly it shows, but otoh there will be much oil an grease in that area and I hope I can hide it somehow...

That is looking pretty good. I have a question. Is this the 1:72 DR.1 from Eduard? I'm normally an armor builder but lately my interest in some aircraft has been growing and I have my eye set on the 1:72 Fokker Dr.1 Dual pack from Eduard and am wondering how it builts up. If it is the 1:72 kit would you recommend it?

Hello Robert,
Thanks for your kind comment!
No, this is not 72 but 48 scale.
In general it is an pretty easy to build kit and I think the 72 scale will not be much different. Others may know more...

Danke fur die Schnelle antwort.
Thanks for clearing that up I saw that 48 kit as well onthe Eduard website but for my first steps into the world of wings I think I better start with some cheap smaller kits. I quite liked the decal options of that kit.

Hi all,
I have finished the last bits of the build today (wind screen, cowling strap and a final instrument in the pit). Here are some photos of the finished model.
This build was fun and thus I too the Eduard Fokker D.VII from the stack and started it ... curious how far I will build thas.

Very nice result on this Fokker. I still have to invest in one myself but if it comes out half as nice as yours I'm already a happy man.

Thank you Jessie and Robert!
Robert, if you want a cheap one, you could also buy Revells 1/72 scale kit or in 1/48 the Weekend Edition or the Revell reissue of the Eduard kit.

Hello Steffen:
I am just now getting to your build. This really turned out nice. I like this scheme a lot and you did an outstanding job on it.

Thamk you Mark!
well, I started it the week before Easter so it was not up for such a long time.
It renewed the fun in WWI subjects though and I started a Fokker D.VII (OAW) right away... will be in Büchner's Blue/green livery.
