Hi:-H !

I grabbed the very nice Revell 1:72 F-101 Voodoo kit and the Blecher Bits decal sheet.

What color comes near to the grey the CAF used?
Could anybody please give me a hint what kind of acrylic color would match (if there is any)?

Many thanks in advance!!

Regards,

Sebastian

Model Master Canadian Voodoo Grey(FS16515) is the colour you want. I've heard that this has been discontinued, but don't despair. Xtracolor Boeing Grey X301 is an almost exact match.

Early RCAF Voodoos were painted in overall silver lacquer very similar to RAF high speed silver so make certain about the particular airframe you want to do.

If you're looking at Xtracolor, go straight for X150, which is FS16515 Canadian Voodoo Grey.

LifeColor has it in their range. For some reason Google didn't want to show it to me the other day.

Hi!

Great! Jessican & Sean, thanks for your advice!

I remember that this grey is very light and different from the "Voodoo Grey" which I know. It´s new to me that there is also a Canadian one.

Last question : What are your experiences with Lifecolor? Are those easy to handle? I use Gunze, Tamiya and Revell Aquacolor up to now, but no Lifecolor.

Thanks & best regards,

Sebastian

Canadian Voodoo grey is FS 16515. USAF Voodoos were painted in Air Defence Grey which is FS 16473, a darker and bluer colour. I've never used LifeColor, so I can't help you with it. Here's a review.
