I have just received the OzMods update set for the AZ Models 1/48 Vultee Vengeance and have started posting images of the set on Aussie Modeller. I will be reviewing the set over the next few days whilst I wait for the donor kit. It is definitely an improvement over the AZ kit!

Nice on David

I've shied away from the AZ Vengeance because I was so disappointed by the reports when it first came out.

All the best

How could you be disappointed in this lovely kit :-)

The OOB AZ Vengeance is a pain but it can look good if made with care. I am unsure if it is worth the money that is generally wanted for it though.

Hi again David

That's a great build! I'll be really interested to follow your review and see what an improvement the new set offers. You might even tempt me to have a crack at the kit - the Vengeance has always been a favourite of mine.

All the best

I have now received the donor kit for the OzMods Vengeance update set and have done a pile of comparison images. Here are a few of them:

Here you can see the big difference in the shape of the fuselage:

The big difference in the depth and shape of the fuselage:

Note, the fuselage is taped so the rear of the cockpit openings are level as this is the only real similar point on the two sections.

Here is the interior of the kit before you even get started:

Note - the OzMods set has received a coat of Humbrol US Interior Green.
