I'm converting a Trumpeter Bear to a Tu-116. The Tu-116 was a conversion itself, of a Tu-95 Bear A bomber. The early Bears had a group of small windows immediately aft of the nose glazing, seen here. My problem is that I haven't been able to find a good photo which shows them all in one frame, and I haven't been able to determine whether there are 7 or 8 of those little windows grouped around the Bear's nose from the side views alone.

Can anyone point out some good drawings or walkaround photos which definitively show how many windows my Bear will need?

Hi Jess .. it just so happens that i have this aircraft in my FSX hanger so iv just had a look for you and it seems there are 8 of the small windows , normally the folks who make these planes for FSX are quite good with there accuracy .. so if it were me id go for the 8 ... hope this helps

Logically it seems that there would be 8, 2 per frame. But you never know...

And my Muse bit me. I'm sure you can figure out the tune

I started building a Bear today,
It's made in a handy size.
But I don't want Russian military
I'd rather it's in disguise.

And so my bear will be one that was
A civvy Bear, it's better because
There's only two bears that ever were used in Aeroflot.

CHORUS
Aeroflot paint will dress my Bear,
My little Bear will be one that had to go and earn its pay.
No bombs, no guns just a chair,
For flying Khrushchev on his holiday.
Carpets, kitchens, luxury
And at the back it's got
a lowering set of stairs.
So climb onboard and look out the window
And add a bag of mail
Because they're two little civvy Bears.

I'm building a civvy Bear today,
it's no use to whine and moan.
The Air Force Bears need to go away,
They're not welcome in my home.

And so my Bear will be one that was
A civvy Bear, it's better because
there's only two Bears that ever were used in Aeroflot.

CHORUS

Every civvy bear in the world
They're getting quite rare today
There's only one left and it lives in
A Museum far away

Along the airways, everyone sees
My civvy Bear, it's flying with ease.
There's only two bears that ever were used in Aeroflot.

Hi,

This photo seems to confirm that the "little windows" were 8 indeed.

and more:

You have 4 windows on the starboard side on your photo and 4 more on the port side on the photo that I linked.
