Hello all, I thought I would break the ice with this build. I have only been modeling for about two and a half years and have come to the conclusion that the Butcher Bird is one of my favorite builds.
Kit # St 21 turns out to be a real nice kit with plenty of detail in the gear bay and pit. The engine leaves little to be desired but since it wont be seen but just for a few fleeting glimpses from the front. I chose to go with one of the obscure captured aircraft of JG 301 and from the little research I did I found out it is the Wilde Sau squadron.
I only have been on this since last night and maybe have about a total of 8 hours in it. It is a pretty simple kit and the way it goes together allows painting of a few large pieces as well as the pit details. Most every one knows that the pit is fairly cramped so there isn't usually much to display there.
I used the kits instrument decals on this ip, I thought they looked OK to me.
The engine, lower cowl and prop are mostly complete.
The gear bays are better than the last FW I built. It has plenty of surface detail to fill in with a wash.
Yellow 4 is the one I am going to try for and if that doesnt work then I figger sompin else out.
and you guys should be familiar with Eaglecals.
So I'll just keep going on with this one because I feel as if I got a good bit done and it is going very well.
I have a good feeling about this one.

The instrument panel is looking convincing. Did You make the harness from foil or is it PE ?

Hi Paul,
your 190 looks very promising. I like your choice of the Yellow 4 with the red/yellow RV band.
Thanks for sharing your project with us!
Regards,
Sebastian

Paul, a really nice start to the cockpit. I really like how you weathered it. Also your instrument panel really has a nice look to it. Looking forward to your next update.
