The printed instructions for the Revell 1:48 P47N aren't very clear as to what I do with the installation of the propeller shaft. How does it get installed?

build the two banks of engine cylinders separately, and before you glue those sub assemblies together, fit the shaft thru the forward sub-assembly without gluing it.

As a trial fit I put the 2 cylinder sets together with the propeller shaft between them and the shaft wobbles badly. Is there supposed to be a shim of some sort to make it a fairly tight fit?

Never mind. The gear case holds it tightly.
