Armor and railroad modeler Les Rogers [lesrogers] has joined the ranks of aircraft modelers with his first plane: Tamiya 1/32 Supermarine Spitfire Mk IXc. Les told me that he had custom masks cut for the aircraft code.

Last year the wreckage of a Spitfire was found in a watery grave in France after being lost for 60 years. The Pilot of the shot down plane was Flt. lt. Henry Lacy Smith of Sydney who was flying with the RAF on the invasion of Normandy.

I found that his plane identification was FUB so I built a 1/32 scale model using his call sign and the plane as it was when he was stationed in England. I have depicted it under going field maintenance on an air strip.

He was buried with full Honours in France last year. My Tribute.
