Hey all... first post.
I have been infatuated with the spitfire since I've been a child and have been looking the past week or so for a model. I hear Tamiya provides a kit but noticed ICM does as well.... I tried to compare but my computer froze up.. a few times since last night so I had a hard time comparing them. What I would like is a mk1 battle of Britain spitfire model... very accurate model. If you point me to links about reviews I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise I have found Tamiya is good but could be improved upon with regards to proportions and ICM is nice. As I said thought, MK1 battle of Britain is the model I would like, so what do you prefer? I apologize for not searching the site as well as I should... I did get frustrated with the inadequacy of my computer.

As far as i know only Airfix and Tamiya offers an Mk.1 in 1/48. I have only built the Airfix one which I thought were pretty nice but from what I’ve heard the Tamiya offering builds better.

Here’s a review on Aeroscale regarding the Tamiya Mk.1

And the Airfix spit:

In addition to Tamiya and Airfix, Pegasus does a snap-fit kit:

And then there's Revell-Monogram's old kit:

While looking for reviews, I came across this build thread on the Airfix kit - looks like it takes some work to get together neatly.
I'd say go with Tamiya, its details are more refined and it goes together like a charm.

Thanks for the responses. The links were nice as well. From what they said and the other reviews I found I went with the Tamiya. Looking forward to it coming in the mail!
