OK you asked for it and I've been helping Kitty Hawk Models develop them. Here is a sample of the prototypes. I don't know when they will be released or if they will scale up or down but at last we will have an accurate new generation 1/48th scale aircraft.

Yes we are working on other projects. No I won't tell you what they are yet. You will be happy. Please support this product and we'll see what else we can make happen.

Here is a copy of the email sent to me.
"hi Floyd
we are running the AH-1Z and UH-1Y, please announce it. we need more people discuss to it and give us more ideas. and please ask around for those two helicopters cockpits."

What that means is that we need cockpit photos of OPERATIONAL AH-1Z and UH-1Ys. You can forward them to me at [email protected] . It also means we are looking for marking options. Here is your chance to have a positive impact on a product you want.

Those look really nice. Great news. I really hope they scale them up to 1/35. That would be awesome. I have pics of the cockpits from the web if those will help. I'll send them to you in an email.

Erevan nothing to do. All the parts are at the casters. Now we wait. Most of the parts are already in rubber. The cockpit/canopy should be ready for rubber by the end of the weekend. Fingers crossed.

No idea time to market. I'm just happy they are finally coming to market. Sure I'd like 1/35th scale but 1/48 is quite nice.

one like this would be a nice break from the all grey ones. I think that's a z but not a helo expert.

Nope, that is an older Whiskey (AH-1W) model. There are a few kits out there of this one in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/35.

I know this thread is a little on the dead side (at least from the reply standpoint) but I might be able to help with the cockpit photos. I'm an active duty Marine and know some guys that work with these helos daily. I can ask around and see if I can get some cockpit photos. They might be able to get me some, but it might come with the price of getting decals done for THAT particular unit as well to go with the kit. Let me know if that would be feasible.

At this point we need photos of the markings, especially unique unit and personal ones. It is better to photograph a whole aircraft in sections to aid the decal people
