Hi All as the title says this is the (mostly) Airfix B.57G, I've done a lot of extra work to correct the many inaccuracies and deficiencies in the kit. I hope you think it was worth it! A full build can be found here.

Your build blog is inspiring, John. The finished model is ever so pleasing. Congradulations in order; very well done!

I see you aren't kidding about being a Canberra fan
I just took a quick look at your IPMS blog and am going to copy it to a word document later for future reference for my own build. She's almost too clean, very nicely done!
Out of curiosity, have you built either of the other two variations from this kit? I plan on building them as well after I build this variant. I also really wish they made a 1/72 version of this kit...

Hi Jeremy
Thanks for the comments! As yet I've not built any of the B variants in the kit but all the corrections that apply to a G will also apply to the B's if you take a look on the site in the photo builds section you will find two builds of the Airfix 1/48 B by Gary one of the SIG members this will give you a very good idea of what you need to do. I intend to build my next 1/48 Airfix B.57 as an E.
As for being too clean, this was the 13BS Bosses Aircraft so it was well looked after, that is until it unfortunately crashed into a FAC Cessna with the loss of the FAC pilot. If you want to get in touch regards any Canberra help please feel free, I'm always happy to help if I can.
John
I forgot, yes a new 1/72 B.57 and EE. Canberra kit would be good, but we need it to be more accurate than what we've had so far! The Italeri kit although good is far from being the ultimate B.57 as you will see on the SIG site. If you can put the Italeri nose and wings on to the Airfix 1/72 B.57 then you'll be getting closer.
