A lot of very interesting details here. I find the cowling parts an intriguing design. That clear fuel line is awesome! I am glad they didn't just rebox the Hasegawa model.

I like your attitude Rowan. LIke you I don't count rivets or fuss over a part that scales out to be a millimeter off.To me it's the fun of the build and the feeling of accomplishment when done. That 109 is definitely on my to do list.I might add a motor but I'll pretty much stick to out of the box. Revell I think has great kits for the cost.Thanks for the review.

I bought this kit from T7 Models for £20.99, discounted from £22.99 at the Air Day at RNAS Culdrose, so a bit of a bargain. It isn't showing in Martins on line shop but I know that he has a couple left so drop him an email

thanks gentlemen. I have ordered some quickboost exhausts and MG barrels, (I am sure I have some Master Model brass barrels somewhere in my stash if I can only find them.......).
Also ordered a 1/32 Luftwaffe pilot for if I decide to do a dio of this aircraft and finally some Lifecolour RLM Yellow.
This should beef up the build when I get around to it.

Good review! Well that is not a secret for people call me an 109 expert. The model really looks like 109G but there are some tweaks to be done. Well Beale size is stilla matter of questions as I have not found the theory yet similar to one we have used in Zvezda model. But some things on the cowlings should be corrected if you need more 109 than you would have had from the box. There should be no gap between the compressor intake and the buldge.

Thank you Mansur, I will bear in mind the lack of gap between compressor intake and and cowling bulge. The compressor intake has visible connection points on its lip for the tropical filter. Do you think it is necessary to add such small details in 1/32?

For the price of the AM stuff needed to fix the Hase kit, you could buy this one (I built two, and helped Eagle Parts support kids in college, hahaha, including the spinner, blades, oil cooler cover, turbo charger intake, and drop tanks). I have never understood the loyalty shown to that kit by modelers who should know better. Maybe once upon a time Hasegawa's kits were state-of-the-art, but like Tamiya's armor kits, their older line is showing its age. This looks like a winner to me, especially given the option of the tall tail!

And you are 100% correct about people judging kits from sprue shots etc. I am with you and if it looks like a Bf 109 then it fulfils its mission.

Julian, thanks for the well written & detailed review. Like most things in life, there is always a trade off. Sure sounds and look to me that Revell has produced a really accurate model for the price, and at that price we're getting a real bargain.
