I am an ARMY AVIATOR, so this Forum is my calling. I currently have this on the bench, in progress. This will be a completely reworked Monogram AH-1S/AH-1F Israeli Bird when completed. It is very hard for me to build a HELO without going crazy on the extras. This is the New Tow Tubes and Exhaust
Tell me what you think? TODD

:-) Stupendous Todd. I suppose having a 1/1 referance makes it difficult to ignor the details :-) Just one thing, though, I hope you realise that I wont be able to build a helo now. No way could I compete with this Keep us updated :-)

Hi TODD

Awesome!! :-)

Is this for the DTA campaign? It'll blow away anything I submit...

Just to bring a wholy unjustified air of reality into this... is that a dry fit, or do you still have a couple of seams to fix on the pesky plastic parts?... :-)

Wonderful stuff

Ooooh - thanks for posting this. I like helicopters too!

Question: Is the grillwork really recessed on the actual helicopter - or would thinning out the area from the inside be a major pain and not worth it in the end?

COMMENTS,
Thanx for all the feedback guys. !!!
MERLIN: NOPE this isnt for DFA.......It would break the rule of no Aftermkt details allowed!!
None of this stuff is glued yet, so Im not even close to closing gaps yet. ALL DRY FIT.

TREAD: NO KIDDING: This guy Rotor should learn how to build a kiy HUH? PLASTIC 101

Wait till this BABY is Done. YOU'LL all see how MONOGRAM should have done the kit. HMMM maybe I'll do an "FULL BUILD " Article.

GUNNIE:
The kit plastic is about 1/16" thick in these areas. A moto tool was used to thin them, to the point of all that is allowed. IN 1/1 this grill work is 1/16" sheetmetal even with the skin., which is hard to replicate in plastic & brass @ 1/48th. When painted it wont be as drastic.

Todd,

We can download your progress pics (with your permission, of course) and use them as reference when we build our own AH-1s.
