Hi there

I'm tackling the Classic Airframes Sea Hornet.

Has anyone got any clear shots of the undercarriage - in particular the brake-cables?

My few reference pics hint that "something's going on down there", but I just can't see what

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the best

Rowan

I dont have a clear pic with the gear down either Rowan, but from what I can see it looks like there is a rigid line down the back of the oleo leg terminating in an elbow with a flexi hose looping inboard (to provide length for oleo extension) and then entering backplate at just above axle line, say about two o'clock, on the inboard face of the mainwheel.

I can't give you a particular picture, but you might find something here:

Hi Merlin,

There'a a complete article on a Hornet model build here, along with good photos of the undercarriage too.
http://pmms.webace.com.au/models/aircraft/pjhornet.htm

A web article about the Sea Hornet:
http://www.vflintham.demon.co.uk/aircraft/hornet/hornet.htm

However, AFAICS, the undercarriage seems to be pretty bare., from both the modelling page and the article. I checked up on plans for the u/c, and this seems correct..

(If you can't see pic above, go to my Websots Gallery, and check up under the Harrier album. It's the last pic)

BP.

Hi everyone

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to help. :-)

BP, thank you for scanning the plan - I've copied it onto my computer.

That great article and BP's plan back up what KiwiDave describes - a rigid line, with a flexible loop.

Thanks again

Rowan
