Ok,

So I'm starting a new model/diorama, and I've decided to do the figure first, as above the model is a messerschmitt bf 109 g-14, which I'm showing has been shot down and crashed landed.

I'm looking for a figure that depicts a german luftwaffe pilot having just stumbled from his aircraft and surrendering to allied soldiers.

Alot to ask for but any suggestions?

Also, while I'm asking.

How easy is it to convert a bf109 g-14 to an e-7?

I don't know anything about 109s really, but I am pretty sure that there are a lot of changes! Are you modelling a particular event that is documented?

I was looking to do this...

But to me it looks like a e model of the 109.

Hi Paul

Basically - it isn't! You are creating a world of pain for yourself! You'd be far better off buying an Emil, because the changes are so extensive, inside and out, across the whole airframe.

And - judging by the early-style canopy - the painting isn't of an 'E-7. With no cannon showing in the wings, I think it's an 'E-1.

All the best

Rowan

The painting is of White 4, W.Nr. 1190 of JG 26. It's generally accepted to be an E-3. It was shot down, probably by a Spitfire flown by Sgt. Kingaby of No. 92 Squadron, making a forced landing near Eastdean in Sussex.
The painting depicts the scene as the pilot, Horst Perez, was taken prisoner during which episode he was shot in the hand and jaw.
The aircraft had quite an eventful life post capture! Most of it can be seen (I assume still) in a full scale diorama and painted the wrong colour at the IWM Duxford.
