Can anyone recommend a company who makes a decent 1/48 scale mosquito? I have been looking for one but have not had much luck. Found one by airfix. Is it a good kit?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Tamiya make two, in both 1/48 and 1/72 scales. They are the B Mk IV/PR Mk IV and the FB Mk VI/NF II. Very well detailed as you would expect from them.

I've heard that Monogram also makes a decent 1/48 Mossie. Haven't seen one myself, but you can check out one of the articles at the various modelling sites...
HTH,
BP.
PS: You can check out the galleries at ARC. There are plenty of Mossies(13 to be exact), and most of them seem to be Tamiya.

If you want a straight forward model and if price is no problem the Tamiya :-) would be best option. Airfix also do a Mosquito, cheaper, but it wasn’t bad, just requires a bit more work. Whether it’s accurate or not, I don’t know.

Avoid the Monogram Mossie unless you're a real glutton for punishment.
Among the "minor" inaccuracies . . . .
the vertical fin and rudder are about 1/8" too tall
the fuselage is about 1/8" too narrow
main wheels are about 1/16" too narrow.
the tailwheel has a reverse interpretation of the anti-shimmy tread - raised center treads and recessed edges instead of the proper raised outer tread sides.
The Monogram kit does have some useful stores and two fairly nice pilot/navigator figures, though.
I've got an Airfix FB IV kit in the unbuilt pile, and it's actually pretty good in most respects. Like the folks above have noted, it's not quite as shake-and-bake as the Tamiya kit, but you're probably gonna find it a lot cheaper and the extra work needed won't give you nightmares or hair loss.

:-) The Airfix kit is accurate, apart from the raised spar cap. It is rumoured that it was designed as one of the 1/24 scale range, imagine that :-) The Tamiya kits are the way to go now though, awsome. I have 2 FB Mk VI and 1B Mk IV, I will have to do one soon :-)
