Hi

I'm trying to obtain the camouflage details of 27th RAF Squadron based in Burma in 1945. I have a photo showing the aircraft in question and there appears to be a White stripe on the Tail, and under main wings. However, I cannot discover if the white stripes were also on the upper surfaces of the wings as well.

Can anyone help?

The white stripes were a theatre identification marking, and were applied wrapped around the wings and tailplane. Yes they would have been on the upper surfaces. Often the nose was painted white as well, as seen on this Thunderbolt.

Thanks for your reply.
I suspected this was the case since the tail plane had the white stripe overprinting upper camouflage.
