Here is the Huma 1/72 scale Messerschmitt Me 609 I just finished.
Aside from not using the poor quality decals from the kit the model was built SFTB, the decals I did use came from my spares box.

Paints used on this model were Model Master enamels shot through my Iwata Revolution BR airbrush, the camouflage scheme was painted free handed.
Getting photographs that show the upper surface camouflage pattern used on the Me 609 are hard to come by so I had to guess on the camouflage pattern so it might be inaccurate.

What an unusual landing gear layout! I wonder how directionally stable it would have been on the ground?

Jessie,
A really odd looking landing gear setup to be sure but I suppose it might have worked, anything would have been an improvement on the standard Bf 109 landing gear.

Hi Les

Fantastic finish and photos as always!

I've usually seen the '609 depicted as an unfeasibly clumsy six-wheeler, but even like this (now Jessie mentions it), the undercarriage layout still looks as dodgy as hell! Messerschmitt had enough trouble with the Me 309's nosewheel, so how about doubling it as a bright idea?...

All the best

Fan freaking tastic work Les!! I really like it. I see you put it in what looks like the standard RLM 74/75/76 scheme. The spinners look pretty dog gone good as well! Thanks for sharing this unique machine with us. Russell

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated!

The Germans had many good designs but this Me 609 was not one of their better ones.

Russell,
I thought the 74/75/76 colors would be effective on this airframe even though the late war greens would have likely been used if the Me 609 was actually built.

Les,

Your work continues to excel!

I love to see a well-built Huma model. Your decals look like you painted them on. As usual, your photography is a treat!

Thank you Fred!

The decals were a mix of older and new decals from my spares box and knew some of them would be a little dodgy in sticking to the model so I used Future as a setting solution, it sure sucked them right down to the models surface.

Les, just a super build. Your photography continues to just amaze me. I have to actually take your lead and try some out door photography myself. Paint looks near perfect, and the decals look painted on. Can't get much better then that.
Really, well done.

Thank you Joel and Tony!

My other new Messerschmitt I will post pictures of will not be very exotic, its just a regular Bf 109G-6. Expect pics later this week.
