So I'm getting ready to start my Eastern Airlines Lockheed L-1011 for the Ancient Airfix II campaign, and I'm stupmed on one detail: what color should the wings be? I know what color I'm going to paint the fuselage & engines, but I'm not sure what to do about the wings & horizontal stabelizers. Should they be grey? Natural aluminum? A combination of the two? Most photos focus on the body & not the wings; so I'm not sure what to do.

It may depend on the carrier Jim. Most airliners had aluminum leading edges and trailing edges with some color of light grey in the center of the wing. I know that doesn't help much but may put you on a path to someone else who knows more. Russell

Nazca decals has solved your problems! They've got detail decals and coroguard for the L-1011 in 1.144. Look about halfway down
this page.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.
Jessica, those decals are nice. Expensive, but nice.
