I am just starting to assemble my collection of about 60 1/144 post-war military aircraft. Question - as most of the canopies are quite small with little or no detail - what are your suggestions for painting them to obtain a high level of realism? Thanks

That's really an artistic decision more than anything else given the lack of detail. You could leave the canopies clear and paint the cockpit areas black or dark green, or you could paint the canopies themselves. If the overall colour scheme is light, paint the canopy black or dark grey. If the overall colour is light, the canopy ought to be silver or light grey.
