I'm building an old Revell 1/28 Sopwith Camel Kit and have run into a problem.
The decals in the kit shredded by just placing them in water.
I could replace the roundels with the decal sheet from Revell's Spitfire 1/32 F-24 Kit which
match the camel roundels in both color and size.
Blue outer circle, white middle circle, red center dot.
1 7/8" diameter.
I can buy some Aussie decals but they'd cost $35.each. Ouch.
I'd really need 2 since the bottom wing decal needs the same. Ouch, ouch.
Is there any way to buy, borrow, beg or steal these decals?
I wrote Revell but that looks like a long wait.

If you haven't soaked all of them, the way to save what's left is to coat them with Microscale Liquid Decal Film. You can get it at any well-stocked hobby shop.
Depending on the colour scheme, most of it should be amenable to masking and painting, and it'll probably look superior to old Revell decals anyway

I second what Jessica said, Microscale Liquid Decal Film is good stuff. I had a terrible, terrible, terrible time with some MD-80 USAir decals, and the only thing that saved me was this product. One word of caution, you might after applying the decal preservative onto the decals, need to use a strong setting solution like Solvaset; which will allow the decals to conform to the surface of the plastic. That was the only problem, if you want to call it that, that I had. Good luck to you. We have all experiences lousy decals and it is a very frustrating situation to be in. Russell
