Can someone help me out? I've got a small etched set by Resitech for a 1/48 Airfix Jaguar GR3. The trouble is I've got no idea what some of the parts are for.
I know the section on the left contains blade arials, the middle section instrument parts and the lower right are pitot tubes etc. But what the hell are the two sections on the upper right for? The middle one looks like 3 oval grilles, air intake parts? Can someone help me out?

Hi Martin
The main piece top right looks like a HUD.
The ovals might by rear-view mirrors to go inside the canopy.
The other two parts look like side consoles, but are rather small...
Hope this helps

Hi,
I'll second my vote for the three oval shapes as being rear view mirrors. The other parts I am not sure. Merlin is probably right. What I did that might help a little -- I went to eduard.com and checked out the instruction sheets for their jag PE set. It is not the same version as the one you are working on but it might help figuring out what to do with the parts in question.
Hope this help you out some,
Good modeling,
Wayne
(side note) -I like the new little tank smiley....hope we get one for aircraft too (hint hint)

:-) Yep the ovals are mirrors, and the item left of the 3 top right is the HUD. The other 2 items are, I believe, middle contact breakers/fuses, right warning lights. :-)

Martin:
The three oval grills look to be vent covers. Two intake and an output covers.
The bottom right section looks like three blade aerials(the large ones) and three mirriors.(the smaller ones).
Top right section is the HUD body. and the other two parts got me stumped but I'll take a shot and say look at the main landing gear wheel wells. Looks like structural ribbing etched on those. At first I thought it was the side instrument panels, but it was the ribbing on those pieces that are leaning more toward the the wheel wells.
I could be way wrong on this but I thought I would throw it out there for ya.
