I am researching Eindeckers, mostly E.IIIs, and I seem to be a bit confused on the colors of Udet's stripe on his aircraft. Most of the kit boxes have a red stripe, while WNW has a blue one.

I am sure this has been discussed, but I cannot seem to locate it in a search. What is the general consensus for the color?

Bavarian blue is the general belief. Model companies seem to think red is more attractive.
