Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if someone ever heard (or could help me find) a kittyHawk plane kit in 1/35 scale?

Appreciate your help.
Thanks
Hussein

The nearest you'll find is 1/32. The best of those are from Hasegawa.

Thanks Jessie for the usual good advice
I looked at Hasegawa model kittyhawk 1/32
I think this would be good, but the problem is that I can't find it for sale on the internet at all. I searched many sites but it seems to be discontinued.
Could you suggest where I might find one?
Unofficially speaking do you think it would be acceptable to use 1/35 scale figures around this 1/32 plane in a diorama? Would it classify for a competition or could cause it to be rejected? I only ask because I know its probably impossible to find any figures in the scale 1/32.

I have the really old Revell P-40E. I think it may be missing a cowling panel, but that can become part of your diorama. If you want it I'll send it to you.

It's fairly common to use 1/35 figures with 1/32 aircraft. They may look a bit short, but usually the difference isn't really noticeable.

Hi Hussein.

If you search eBay or your preferred online retailer using "1/32 P-40" instead of Kittyhawk you should find plenty of options.

I have posted this link on other threads in the past, but you can see a great diorama HERE by a friend of mine which uses 1/32 aircraft and 1/35 vehicles and figures.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, D

Hussein,

Here is link to many P40 on Ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&rt=nc&_nkw=1%3A32+P-40E+Warhawk

Of note:
All US planes were "Warhawks". The British and Russians used the term "Tomahawk" for models B&C and "Kittyhawk" for models
D and beyond.
So a Warhawk D, E etc. should fit the bill.

PS Are you planning on doing the diorama of the crashed P40
that was found in the Egyptian desert, a couple of years ago?
That would be a very interesting dio.

Cheers,
Joe

@ Jessica:
Thanks Jessica, that would be a great idea for the revel kit, but the missing panel might be an issue with the diorama
@Damian:
Thanks Damian for the information, I will use 1/35 figures with this model without issues. The 1/03 difference is negligible I think
@Joe:
Thanks joe, this information solves the whole problem as I was strictly searching for Kittyhawk and got no results but with the P40-E I got so many results.
You are right this is exactly my diorama plan to reproduce the found Kittyhawk in Egypt desert scene. I will create a build log for it.

Master Box have 3 sets of excellent 1/32 figures, however they may or may not be appropriate for your diorama:
