Was given a guided tour of the TAVAS Museum yesterday. Here are some pictures for you. See if you can guess the aircraft..

I forgot my camera so all piccies were taken using my good ole Samsung S4 phone camera, except this one taken by the curator and cheif test pilot with his old camera phone..

So that;s it for now. I am sure I will be taking lots more photos soon as I have been invited for a joy flight in the little blue 1930's home-built aircraft they have there, out over the coast and Moreton Bay islands. The original motor for it was a Model A Ford motor, but that has been replaced with a nice, reliable Subaru motor for reliability sake.. and the Model A engines now cost a fortune to overhaul etc.

Cheers
Warren

PS I will take my DSLR next time!

For us with a propensity to miss interpret ACRONYMs in all flavors (and I work as a Technical Writer), Please define ALL Acronyms the first time you use them.

What is TAVAS ?????

You are not the first, nor the last to do this. I once had to send a paper back to an engineer, when he had 15 undefined acronyms on the first page ( stopped reading there). And then argue with him, because "everyone knows what they mean." This was a xxxxx dollar proposal.

Fairly Warned, Be Thee, Says I.

Very nice pictures, Bye The Way (BTW), especially the turnbuckle... Now how do I do that in 1/72 scale?

Hi Tom

It's The Australian Vintage Aviation Society.

Hi Warren - I'm not jealous at all! Great pics of the Beaufort (even if it is a little of place here) - I really want one in 1:48.

All the best

I am a technical writer as well but in these days of Googgle, and not writing for a technical audience, I forgot all about it.

So, sue me... Isn't that what happens in the USA?

Suits are for frivilous things.... Acronyms are far more serious and require sarcasim and wit... or just silliness (What IS, the terminal velocity of an ULS ?)
