Now all I need is the base.

I had to paint and correct the swastika that come only as a cross symbol with the decals.

Kit OOB... with just the rear trailing support upgraded and panel lines.

Hello Noel:

Very nicely done DIII. Great looking wood and paint on the wings.

Best

In spite of all of its inaccuracies, built with skill as you have done the kit looks great!

The paint scheme is wonderful. I have an original (Revell) and the swastika was in the sheet.

I guess there was a differentiatonon back then (1964) between real swastikas and 'nazi symbols'

The vertical cross was known in ancient times as a good luck symbol. In German it was named the Haken Kreuz. In WWII Germany is was turned at a 45 degree angle and the arms turned to the right it was named the swastika. The interpretation of the symbols goes back to Voss' days as a Hussar. Their motto was "How do we fight? With heart, luck and iron will". Hence the heart, Haken Kreuz with the iron cross. It is read from the left side because that is how you mounted a horse in the cavalry. Note the foot step is also on the left side of the fuselage.

Here is a bit of fun on the subject. Click here.

Thanks all for your kind comments!

It was only recently that I delved into aircraft! I normally build AFV's but have gone nuts about planes!
