Nice work, Al. An engaging scene without being too busy. Well balanced.
Is it for a museum? A vet?

Al, a really well done Diorama. The B-17G certainly looks like a excellent build. Your painting, decaling, and weathering certainly look most realistic.
As for all those figures grouped into separate work related scenes, they all work well individually, and as one to create a larger overall scene.
I watched the video, and enjoyed it, but it could have been that much better if you used a tripod to steady the camera especially when panning.

Thanks, guys.
The guy who commissioned this is a collector and has a special interest in PT Boats. He recently got the 8th Air Force bug.
Joel, sorry for the shaky-cam effect. I'd have done a tripod if I had a large lazy Susan to hold the base which is a 22 X 28 inch frame with luan plywood as the filler.

Really fine work on this, Al. Just nailed the aircraft detail and weathering(oil on tarmac nice touch),figure posing and grouping, and over-all composition.
Great work!

Beautiful work. Can you elaborate on the tarmac and grassy area construction.

Thanks for the compliment.
Well, here's the source for the tarmac. I printed several of Mark's pages and applied them to the base, luan plywood, with Elmer's wood glue.
The grass was first done with first a couple small bags of medium static grass, unsure of the supplier. Unfortunately, that only covered one side and my LHS did not have any matching pruduct and the Woodland Scenics turf I put on the other side looked too different. I glued down some Woodland Scenics foam shrubs to break up the flatness. I then cut some Woodland Scenics long grass to the length of the original, tossed in a couple shades of turf, and glued this mixture over everything with Scenery Cement, essentially very thinned white glue from, get ready, (in four part harmony with feeling), Woodland Scenics. At this point, both sides looked pretty much alike so I called the grass finished. The guy who commissioned this wanted a feel of fields around the runway that hadnn't been landscaped recently. Initially,he thougth of a fence and cows, but I thought that would be too comproising of security and he agreed. He liked what he saw in the pictures, so I guess I succeeded.

Very very excellent work, I real gem! The composition of the diorama is superb and leads the viewer through the scene very well. First class work all around.
