Nice look at this kit Andy, thank you. I'm working on the "Jugs over Germany" offering from Eduard and I can happily report that it is fantastic. So much so that I bought two. Thanks again for the look at this one, take care. Jim

Andy, a really great review. I've had that kit in my hands literally a dozen times at my LHS, and always put it back because it was the re-box of the Academy kit. After reading your review, with all the Eduard resin and PE added, I'm going to purchase the kit over the Tamiya offering.

Not only is the Eduard Brassin bits excellent, but I was quite impressed with the basic Academy kit as well.
Whether it is accurate or not I will leave to those that care more than me about such things, I'm happy that it looks like a Jug .

While the Academy kits are good value for money, and their P-47N is about as good as its going to get until Tamiya release that version, just about the only thing that puts me off is all those raised inspection covers on the wings.
Just makes the wings look like they've got warts IMHO.

Must have been harder to engineer them like that that it would have been to scribe them?

Nige,
I'm still undecided if I should purchase the Tamiya bubble top or the Eduard kit? I've already got the Tamiya Razorback in my stash and on my to build list for later this year.

If I go with the Eduard kit (which is how I'm leaning these days), I guess then that I'll have to sand down those wing inspection plates, so they look more in scale.
