Special Hobby have announced three new kits for release later this year.
Two versions of the Grumman AF Guardian in 1/48th and a DH100 Vampire FB Mk.5 in 1/72nd.

Andy, thanks for the heads up. I personally can't wait for either Grumman AF-2 Guardian in 1/48 scale.

Me too Joel, they may be one of the ugliest aircraft to grace the blue skies, but I do love the look of them.

I normally stick to 1/48 WWII but will make an exception in the case of these two AF-2s. There is a version of this a/c in the US National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida, and it is awe-inspiring in its size (larger than an AE-1) and ugliness. But, it is so massive and functional that there is a definite beauty to the awkward shape. Chalk up another two to Special Hobby for an a/c we never thought we would see in 1/48!
