A not so golden oldie from the past.

While the price will put this model into the range of younger or less experienced modelers, there isn't really anything relevant with it's release for the more experienced and or demanding modeler.

One other issue that should be considered is that of the folding wings. From the few examples I remember seeing, they don't mate up very well, causing one major work to get them to look decent.

I was hoping for much more when it was announced. I'd love to build one in FAA markings at this scale. I had visions of a new tool Corsair at a more realistic price than the Japanese kits on the market. But no, we get another oldie.
I can see it having potential for younger models. Its a good size, no tiny fiddly bits, bright eye catching colour scheme, and cheap!

I may yet get one though. I'd have less reservations about chopping off its wingtips than I would with Tamiya's

Revell Germany issued this one with FAA markings on overall Sea Blue in the early 90s. It was quite distinctive.

As I said in the review the model has its issues, but I stand by what I said that it would be a great kit to give to a child as an introduction to the hobby. I agree and also hope that RoG release a model of the Corsair of the same standard as the Arado 196 in this impressive scale.
