I want to build. I want to build a plane. I want to build a 1:32 plane. I'm open to all recommendations. If it is a prop ac, I want a detailed engine. For jets, I prefer twin tail fins. I am drawn towards Cold War-modern era Russian planes. I also am intrigued by the F4 Phantom. My budget is $150. What do you think?

Prop planes don't get any better than the Tamiya Spitfire and Corsair, and your best bet for a Phantom is the Tamiya -C/D or -J. I've heard fairly good things about the Trumpeter SU-27.

Matt,
Tamiya's 1/32 scale F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair is literally in a class all by itself. It's that good of a kit.
Kitty Hawk's 1st 1/32 scale kit is right in your interest era with the North American T-6G Texan. Only the US T-6G version can be accurately built with the parts supplied in the kit.

I highly commend the Revell of Germany Arado 196 as I was very impressed with the model for £15, and at that price you can add whatever detail you want and still have change.
