I guess I am done with this plane. The cat is from VF74 (year of my birth), the BeDeviler, this is for my good friend from Mordor! Long Live the LidLess Eye.

Well Lord SS-
I must say that this F-14 turned out VERY nicely!!! Once again you show your versatility as far as subject matter goes... man you could build a great looking car model I bet :-) (That isn't a suggestion, by the way.... hehe)
I think the panel fading turned out really well, effective use of the airbrush..... you truly have mastered that thing!!!!
Bravo, and well done...... congrats from me :-)

Lord Lens aka "Former armor Builder"
Another solid effort from the modeling bench of Da HK Dude. The gull grey looks good, especially with the weathering across the top of this bird. As usual the decal work is top shelf.
Is this the one where you had the canopy disaster---what a remarkable repair--one would never know---beautiful sanding/Klear job here. Congrats.
If you wouldn't mind --- a pic of the weapons load and a rear ender would be appreciated. Looks like you are off armor for good???

SS,I have a suggestion,
Since this is posed "bombed up" and on the ground,find/make "remove before flight " tags for the ordinance's safety wires.
Good work on the weathering. (++) (++) (++) (++) (++) (++) (++) piggies.

Another great winged thingy Dave! How did you weather this one? It looks a bit used. How you did the decals without going crazy is beyond me. Is the windshield supposed to be tinted blue? I've seen some 'Cats that have a green tint.

Hi Jeep,
I don't know about A+, B, or D of the tomcat, but for the F14A, there is no HUD if you looked closely, so what it does is to project the information needed by the pilot in flight directly onto the windshield, hence the front is tinted, some are green, some are blue. I like blue color.

I think blue looks better too. And if you modeled one exhaust open and one exhaust closed then it must be an A. I think only the D shuts down the engines with both nozzles closed. Does this kit have positionable control surfaces?

Yes, Jeep both the flap and slat are positionable, but it's a hassle to assemble them. And the instruction for the flaps extending is incorrect, if I remember correctly, one part is in reversed order.

Would not look nice with flaps down too since the wings are stowed. Btw, did you put some soot around the gun barrel?

A little, not much, since the gun barrel does have a NMF shield at the opening already.

Sorry for the rookie-like question......what did you use to "weather" the A/C?
Did you brush or airbrush the color for your final wash?
Great looking bird!!

Hey Bro:
That is one dirty bird. I love it!!!!!!! Shows alot of wear and tear while flying. There is only two minor things I may mention. The Ordnance looks a little too clean. I know it may sound strange but they do get chipped up during loading.
In the third pic. One of the nose wheels looks cantered inward, but that could be the pic itself.
Other than that. It is an outstanding piece of work.. Up to your usual standards
Paul

Dave when are you going to use your awesome building power on a TANK ? Do you rember what those are ? #:-) This is one cool cat , the weathering looks like it came right out of a pic of one on a flight deck . I bet some pics taken outside would really make it stand out. I have to agree I would like to see a pic of the tail and the weapons rack . At least you got the lens work right on this one . Toad out
