About the A-6 employed over Vietnam, particularly the Navy version. The preferred kit would appear to be the Hobby Boss A-6A version.

But just how different is the cheaper Revell A-6E?

What would be required to get the overall 'look' of an A-6A from a Revell A-6E?

Any thoughts welcomed,

Thanks,

Michael

Michael, I have built 5 A-6 intruders, 3 revel/monogram and one from Kinetic and one from hobby boss. The Revell Monogram one still looks the most correct with the squatty look of an intruder and you cant beat the price. The main fuselage difference between the A & E is the large intake scoop on top of the speed brake and the chin flir turret, neither ones existed on the A-6A. the instrument panel there is some differences, but if you used the instrument with the hood, then you cant tell the difference. The early A intruder also have a slightly different seat GRU5 vs. the GRU7, but again very minor. for the value, ease of assembly, and appearance, I would go with the revel monogram one, still my favorite. Thanh,

Thank you for your reply - a very comprehensive description.

I have the usual publications on the A-6 but have not seen the differences put so clearly,

Regards,

Michael
