Hi All,
Just a comment,I enjoy reading the feature articles however I've noticed that the kit manufacturer and scale of the kit not prominently displayed.
I was wondering if this info could be in the header.
Please.
Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
Do you mean in reviews? If in reviews, the manufacturer and scale should be in there. If in features of models built, yes, those get forgotten time to time. Such info is not required yet I agree that it would be useful to have in the introduction.
Will you send a few links to which you refer to?

Also, it should be mandatory for the “model of the month” contests.

Here is an example of a feature where the scale is not listed up front, though the kit manufacturer is: https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/features/5352
I was not familiar with this kit at all, and I think had to go to the SBS site to learn the scale. The build was fantastic, but it would be helpful to orient a reader like me to know the scale from the get-go.

The problem you will always face is that the site editors can only publish what information they have been supplied with by the person submitting their build for a feature. As far as I recall, reviews should always have a manufacturer and scale.

I leave the scale out of the contest deliberately to avoid influencing the vote in any way.

Hi Brian
Fair point on the Latécoère 28-3.
Note to self: Must try harder.
All the best
Rowan
PS - To be fair though, going to edit it now, I realise I did actually enter all the relevant data (i.e. manufacturer and scale) - but it doesn't seem to appear in the finished article. Hmmmm.

Rowan,
While we have been adding info like scale and vendor for a while now on features they weren't always in the database. That is why currently they don't have any active display on the page. It is certainly something we can incorporate into the layout though.
Cheers,
Jim

Cheers Jim
That'd be neat where it's relevant. I always add the scale in the What's New for the Forum, but I never actually noticed the info wasn't carrying through onto the Features page etc.

I completely agree with Jessica on this issue, as well as even excluding the manufacture. Neither should be a influence on the end result of the build, especially compared to the other models entered for that month. extra detailing, etc. isn't even considered unless one takes the time to see if a build blog or feature was published. It's strictly what's on "the Table".
When I do write a feature, I start off with the full title/variant of the airplane modeled, it's scale, and kit manufacture. From what I can recall, most other features do the same.

Sorry for taking so long to reply.
I'm glad that I was able to spark a little healthy feedback.
