This is the Mark 1 kit MKM14409 in 1/144 scale
I used the kit profile of "Red 82" 1. Escuadron de Caza, FAR, San Antonio de los Banos AB, Cuba, October 1962 as a Caribbean jet from the Cuba crisis was an interesting subject.

Airbrushed with Citadel metallics. I couldn't establish whether the Cuban MiGs had the Oro-58K rocket pod mounted, but it would be a shame not using the the fine resin parts, so now they do!

Thank you for looking!

Nice one Eirik !!
Always liked these Migs.
1:144 that's really small, but I bet you start and finish it in a week
Were the decals with the kit or AM ?

Yes started it last Sunday, to have something to do in between waiting for the paint on my 1:72 builds dries.

Decals are from the kit, but it was a limited edition "boxing" from Mark1, so not sure if they are readily available anymore.
From their website:
"MKM14408 MiG-19P Farmer B 'In Czechoslovak Air Force'
MKM14409 MiG-19P Farmer B 'In Worldwide Service'

These kits have only been issued in a limited series of 200 pcs each!
The model kits in this limited series are packed in self-sealing PE bags provided with a header card – see detailed images of particular models."

I've checked your blog and found an interesting photo of the Mig-19, bottom of the page with a grey camo, do you know where those markings are from ?

Eirik,

Well done. I think the MiG-19 is the best looking of the MiG jets - period!
