Here is the First Aircraft I have finished in OVER 15 years! I still have 4 little antenna to add and also the Antenna on the top. I would say 98% complete. I had A lot of fun, and am looking forward to the next Airplane.... A Tamiya P-51D.

yes it is, Since it was my first one in many years I just went with one of the kits decal options.... But looking a little closer. I guess it is Actually a E-7 and not an E-4...

In the Osprey book is a profile of "white 12" with a drop tank.
There is also a pic of "white 3 " without a tank

Yes, I believe that is what makes it an E-7, but I am by no means a BF-109 Expert. Built it for fun and it was! Makes me want to do more. the mottling might be a little off but I am happy with it, given the timeframe between AC builds.

It looks great and that`s it.
You can`t have too many of them, so many options. I messed up
my Tamiya by hand painting the canopy frames, years ago.
Yesterday i won a Eduard 109 E-1 very cheap.

Thanks, I have been looking into the Eduard ones as well as the Tamiya E-3... I have a Hasegawa BF-109 G-14, that I am just looking for decals for and that will go under the knife. Also have the 1/32 Cyber Hobby BF-109 E-3. Also have 4 Eduard FW-190's coming....

Thanks, I am going to try more things on my next one, for example pre-shading and some color fading. I was looking at my stash and I have an Accurate Miniatures TBF-1C I think that is about 60 percent done that I might try and finish... I will try to post some pictures of the progress tomorrow. Too Many choices, but I made a promise to myself of no more than 2 at a time.... That way one can on the paint table and the other on the assembly line...

What an impressive build!! Outstanding paint scheme and decaling, with just a light touch of weathering. One would never have guessed that this is your 1st aircraft build in more then 15 years.

There is nothing wrong with using kit decals if it's a scheme that interests you. Most are made by Cartograf. Tamiya still makes their own, even if a little on the thick side. I've used them, and they lay down just fine with the use of the Microscale system.

Looking forward to seeing your next build, especially the TBF-1C by Accurate Miniatures. It's a great kit.

Thanks Joel. Yea the last AC I finished was back in the 90's while stationed at Moody AFB. I have tinkered with a BUNCH, but never even came close to finishing one. I was always afraid of filling seams, masking canopies, decals and such. I am still trying what to do next...

Thanks guys and gals for the comments, Unfortunately it didn't place... But I will say I was happy with the build. I sat it next to Shawn's Spitfire and it was good to see that I was just off from being there... His Spit was SWEET, BTW. as far as the paints I used, they were all MM Enamels thinned with odorless mineral spirits, except the yellow that was MM Acryl RLM 04, that was thinned with MM acryl thinner. I used MM Acryl flat for the final Clearcoat...

I know next time I will enter it in the right category!!! Thanks for the info Shawn....

Also would there be interest if I did one as a build Blog? I have many 109's to choose from...

I'd tune into a build blog, always neat to see how others build
