ICM have released a very impressive quarterscale kit of the Do 215 - the inline-engined counterpart to the more famous Do 17Z.

Excellent photos Rowan. They show the beautiful detail to perfection. Engines, internal structure, "... the fit of the fuselage and wings is excellent..." - I want one!

Concerning that tail. I'm now making resin set of it, and found out that rudder is about 3.5mm too short. Overall span of the horizontal tail is OK, but they have made fixed part too wide,so movable part with rudders is about 7mm too short.

Hi Sergey
Excellent! I'm looking forward to your set.

I see what you mean about the tailplane roots projecting too far out - I was probably mesmerized by the lack of bulge and missed that. On closer inspection I think the front tips of the rudders could be a tad blunter too.
All the best
Rowan

Hi Sergey
Great shot showing the stabiliser root.

Are you going to produce your parts to allow the incidence to be set like the real thing?
I was referring to the front of the rudder (the aerodynamic balance) when I said I thought the kit parts could be blunter. They seem a tad too rounded and sloped compared with my photos.
All the best
Rowan

Hi Serguey,
Nice to hear that you are working on the tail problem case. Are you going to do a separate tailwheel as well?

Great! This time, unless the Su-2 which I had to build rapidly, I will wait until your set is out and build the 215 later this year. In the meantime I also hope Eduard will have done some PE sets and masks for the kit.

Hi Steffen!
Actually it's already released:

I made 6 new sets and now I'm collecting orders for my dealers, so I think in a month new sets will be available for orders, and they for sure will be in Telford.
