Hi, here comes my F-84 from Tamiya, it was easy to build
but the kit - decals beat me, so i used decals from a Revell
Thunderjet.
This aircraft was operated by the 311. Sqn, Royal Netherlands
Air Force in July 1953. These decals worked fine except, the red stripes on the tailplane. This kit was build a few months
ago, but i would like to share this with you. I hope you like it

Bernd,
Nicely done F-84G. Your NMF came out superb. Decals look great. I'm betting that the Tamiya decals being so thick, just wouldn't conform to the compound curves as needed.

Hi Joel, yes the Tamiya decals look great on the sheet, but
they are thick as a plank, i fear the decals on my F4D Skyray
perform also like those here in this kit, i have used Sol
but no reaction.
Tender modelling on a sunday afternoon
The SAC "sticker" rest on our fridge !
For the NMF scheme i have used simply Humbroll No 11, shaded
with a few drops of black, the masking on the fuselage panels
was time consuming.
Thank you for the reply

Bernd

Bernd,
I've also have in my small stash waiting to be worked into my build list Tamiya's F4D Skyray, and their A-1J Skyraider, plus several WW11 aircraft. Years ago I always used the Tamiya kit decals, and they eventually conformed to shape, but never really settled into the panel lines and recesses. So now I'm going the AM decal route.

That's a very refreshingly different Thunderjet

Thank you, Jessica ! The Squadron-Signal "F-84 Thunderjet in Action" qoutes that only 789 "G" Thunderjets going to the USAF
This left 2236 for the allies of the United States !
