OK D, I had already planned a Boomerang for Ronnie RAAF. Finally called it started tonight.



When you're on the road, is it by your own transport or public transit? I've been doing a series Modeling on the Road Since I'm flying, most of the fun stuff; knives, paints and solvents has to be packed in my checked baggage.

I am generally driving within 3-4 hours of home, any further than that and I fly/hire cars. If I am away for 2 or 3 nights I pack a kit or two and the basic knives, files, sanding tools and cement. I generally don't take paints, and prefer to just work on sub-assemblies.

Right now, I'm on the road ~ 18 hours by air away from home... and in 1/72 everything is a sub assembly... So I brought along some acrylic paints to be able to make progress while I'm not at home.

Now, for a deep technical question on the Boomerang. Should the base of the magneto / distributor (kind of a lump in Airfix's representation) be Top Dead Center like most other A/C or off around the 8 O'Clock position.

D, I just found this thread and have enjoyed it along with the recent addition. Is that a football or rugby jersey?

Which kit:

1. has the general shape correct.
2. is the easiest to build so far.
3. is available in my hemisphere.

congrats with your wife and child. The foremost I wish and your family alot of health and luck. As such I most be honest I like the with/yellow spotted model the most. I real beauty!

I myself know what means to get promoted and kids... bad comco for modeling... I hope for you it will work out.

Hi Chris.

The work trip was great, apart from jet lag! Six solid days of training and sales conference with a weekend of solid snow and minus 5 degrees in the middle. Tough to acclimatise after long stretches of high-30s and 40s here. Did get to watch the World Cup 4-man bobsledding at Winterberg on the Sunday which was amazing.

Back to reality here now, mid-30s again. I will try to sort out the images in this thread over the next few nights (thanks Photobucket).

Damian! Just saw this one pop up over the horizon! I'm also a big fan of this aircraft and that Kiwi Wings model has a smaller cousin in 1/72 with the same fantastic sprue gates on it. I think they were all made in the same machine that Malcolm Laird did the Ventura-kits in, I have a whole bunch of his Spitfires that I doubt will ever get built... I also have that Kiwi Boomerang in 1/72, bought second-hand in a rather smelly box !
