I am offering paint masks for the the magnificent 1/24 Airfix Hawker Typhoon at a discount.
They will consist of Camo masks, D-Day Stripe helpers, yellow leading edge, roundels and fin flash. If you have a set I will do the the codes and serials of your choice, also at a discount and post free.
The idea is that these will be available at the IPMS Scale Modelworld show at the Telford international centre, in November. I will be doing demonstrations at the Albion Alloys stand so you will have to suffer one of those first
I have received the 3 view drawings from Richard Caruana, the very well know artist and for the last 2 days I have been drawing, cutting, test fitting, altering, cutting, test fitting, altering, cutting, test fitting until the camo masks fit. This is on a 1/72 scale hobby boss Tiffie, so I need to check these on the 1/72 Airfix kit, which I believe was designed by the same guy that did the 1/24 scale kit. When I have built the kit I will be using the masks (scaled up) to paint it so that will form the basis of the instructions.
I haven't worked out the price yet but I'm aim for 35% off! This is just my little bit to help sales of this wonderful kit; not that I think Airfix need any However the more that they sell the more likely they are to do something else in a similar fashion
If you are interested in a set of these masks then please drop me a line at [email protected] Just state that you are interested, please don't try and give me any information or ask about other masks, just say that you are interested in this offer; this is so that I can gauge interest. I will post details about how to get them at a later date

I have been working hard on the promotional masks for the 1/24 Airfix Typhoon. So far I have done the Camo masks, the roundel set and the D-Day stripe helpers. The hardest part is getting the packaging done and these pictures show where I am. I still need to do the instructions for the roundel set and the D-Day stripes and I also still have the yellow leading edge masks to do; for which I need to have the wings together. I am also considering doing canopy masks but I guess that Eduard will probably do them?

The instructions for the D-Day stripe helpers:
I see a slight issue on instruction 5, I forgot to remove some text after copy and pasting but that will be fixed
I would be interested what you think of the instructions, use in conjunction with the front page (with the mask diagram on it) above, are they confusing or easy to understand?
The question is do I do canopy masks?

Hi Mal, very impressive! How do I go about ordering these when they are widely available? It would be nice to use them. Take care.

Nige, I'll bring a set for you to Telford, but you will have to watch my demonstration of how to use them first!
Jim, I will announce on here Aeroscale, and other forums, when they are available; I am aiming for SMW (Telford) in November

Hi Mal,
the instructions seem perfectly clear to my personal brand of "fuzzy logic". The typo in bullet 4. you already mentioned. Very impressive stuff
Cheers,
Julian
P.S. you have little female figures who seem to have defected from a Chukw build lazing around on the instruction sheet

Yes, its the "sexy" Millie, see the Millie on the Roundel instructions Chuck drew my Millie logo and more recently did these 2 knew drawings and yes I do feel privileged
My ultimate goal would be to have a young lady dress as Millie touting for business at model shows where I have a trade stand
