I am going to build three different OH 6 models together to compare them as I go. The first is the AMP kit, the second is the old Tamiya kit, and the third is the Academy kit.

some more work to get the Tamiya and Academy OH 6's up to the point of the AMP kit.
the Academy kit is a redo of the Hasegawa kit but with scribed panel lines and it is almost interchangeable with the AMP kit so they both come from the Hasegawa kit in one way or another.
the panel on the left is the Tamiya and on the right is the Academy

they are of course all 1/48th scale, the Tamiya has the shorter landing skids that are accurate for a Vietnam Loach, it is smaller in most dimensions than the other two kits. I am not sure which is correct and since they are so close I am not too worried about it.
one good thing about the AMP and Academy kits being interchangeable is that the AMP kits clear parts are not very clear so I will replace them with parts from an extra Academy kit.

Doug,
A really good looking build you've got going. In particular, I like the choice of OD paint, what brand is it? At least on my monitor it looks to capture pretty well the brownish hue that a lot of the U.S. Army equipment had during the 1960's. I was stationed in the I Corps area of Vietnam in '69 and the difference between our "Marine Green" equipment and the army stuff was quite pronounced. Again, you've done some great work, keep it up.

I use Tamiya paint and this color is a mix of 80% Olive Drab XF-62 and 20% Yellow Green XF-4. makes a pretty good Army OD from this period.

weapons for the Loaches
the boxes are scratch built from card stock, the red M-60's are from Italieri OH-13 kits, and the grey one is from the Gallery H-34. the grey mini gun is the one from the AMP kit and the white and tan one is from an Academy HH-60. The smoke grenades are rod stock and wire bits.
