Hello all, I wanted to share my first build of, what for me, is the modelling season. With the exception of the propeller and the decals it is straight out of the box. I mostly build WWII aircraft and I wanted both a change of pace and the opportunity to try out rigging a triplane. I made my own eye bolts with copper wire; my skills are nor good enough yet to make turnbuckles, to fasten the rigging to. The rigging is magic line, I know a lot of British WWI aircraft had flat rigging, but I did not want to spend more money on after market stuff. The prop was a left over wooden one that I have had in the stash for a few years, and I decided now was a good time to use it. The Roden decals were hopeless and I ended up having to buy a decal set from Pheon, they are very good quality. I mixed my own base colors and painted the model using my airbrush and Tamiya paints. I actually finished the kit about two weeks ago, but I just got around to photographing it. Critiques are welcome as I know the build is not the last word on accuracy, and I am always willing to learn from others.

Enjoy the photos,
Ernest

Ernest.

She turned out really rather nice. Especially as you are not normal a WWI modeller.

Best regards

Very nice, indeed. I like your wooden prop; did you carve it yourself or purchase it AM somewhere?
All around, well done

Seriously though are any of us "normal" WWI modelers? Nice build by the way.

Thank you all for your kind compliments. Coming from such skilled builders as yourselves I consider that high praise indeed.

Sincerely,
Ernest
