Just got this in my inbox from the site, War is Boring, about an interesting use for a civilian light plane and transport that nobody ever anticitpated when it first rolled out.

The Cessna model 208 Caravan, that bird that FeEx just loves to pieces, is being used as a spyplane, transport(a given here) as well as attack craft, and there is even an AC-208 Combat Caravan, complete with Hellfire missiles.

I'm not sure if there are any kits of the Caravan, even in resin, but the ideas for dioramas using this would be endless,

A box with the built-in head wind that can carry a couple Hellfires.

A 1/72 kit is in the works, apparently.

I like that.

I realize what you mean when you said "apparently", but if Scaleworx does go through with this, this'd be an interesting model, and with a lot of potential.

While FedEx has rendered the Caravan just about ubiquitous, there are a lot of other operators who use the craft, and I was serious about what I said in the seeder post up above, that it could make for some interesting dioramas.

Besides which, if someone has just finished a project, and has a pair of Hellfires to spare, this could be one way put those spares to use, I was trying to post that third pic in the article with the Iraqi Caravan with a pair of missiles loaded, but couldn't.
