For once price is no object. So I want to go big. 32 scale or 48 of something huge.
My initial thoughts...
ZM skyraider, will it work as a FAA skyraider?
Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire, best big Spit?
1/32 Phantom in JASDF blues or FAA if feasible?
What would you get cost-no-object?

I'd go for Airfix' big Tiffy or Mossie.

Happy birthday!
I'd ask for a Zoukei-Mura model, or the 1/24 Airfix Mosquito. Or the 1/32 B-17!

Is that half scale spitfire to the same standard as the typhoon? Can I go panels open without having to buy all sorts of aftermarket gubbins.

Hello Richard,
1/48, I'd go four engine, say the B-29, B-24 or the B-17, or you can go B-52 or B-36, not seen one of those in awhile.
1/32, go with two engine, B-25, HE-111, or you can go B-17 also, or DC-3/C-47, Mosquito, Fw 190, P-51, P-47, P-38.
That's just me. Those are off my wish list.
I'll just clean the window on the way out......
See ya in the funnies.............

Since World War II seems to be your thing, I think you should just go completely off the reservation and get a big, beautiful bomber: an FW-200, an He-177, an He-115. a PZL-P37, or an IL-4.

I thought I had it narrowed down to 2 and then comes Phillips with another fantastic suggestion. Hence!! Boy that would be something.

Yeah - Phillip's idea of a nice big 1/48 FW 200! Or maybe the 1/32 Ju 88?

Nice dilemma
From your choice,I would take the Spifire.
If your asking me,I would ask for a 1/200 Yorktown or a 1/16 King Tiger with interior.

The He177 and Fw200 are serious temptations. But at 25 and 28 inches wingspans... Extreme display challenges arise.
A 1/200 aircraft carrier is interesting. And although still huge, it is much more shelf-shaped than any airplane. Is the USS Ranger CV4 available in that scale?? Only problem there is I have never built a ship and may destroy the model.
The Catalina, albeit very nice. Is properly insanely priced!

Ray,
The Airfix 1/24 Spit is their very first 1/24 kit, not anything close to the same league as their new Typhoon. I'd go for the Typhoon (just got it myself, beautiful!) or the Tamiya Spit IX, also excellent. Though a 1/32 B-17 is pretty hard to argue with! If they had released the F I'd call that a no brainer! Tough dilemma.

hello everyone, I agree, quite a difficult choise, but your initial thoughts are quite unteresting as to my point of view, if I were you I think I would choose 1/32 Supermarine Spitfire MK1XC - Tamiya, as to my mind it is more interesting and captivating to create this one, anyway I think it will be appropriate almost for any collection, of course it is up to you to decide, I can only advise you a nice place to choose a model, you can check it, so anyway good luck to you with your creation!

If you haven't built one of the new 1/32 tamiya models, do yourself a pleasure and go with their spitfire. This will boost your to the next level of model kits:)
