First of all I want to say "Happy New Year!" to all Aeroscalers.

Yes it is shortly past midnight here in Germany and I am allowed to publish the full Revell (Germany) 2015 News. Please note that there will be a few changes in release dates and there will be some more releases in autumn (but most probably nothing new tool not mentioned in the list).

So here it is: Revell News 2015

I avoid publishing pix and prices. The former are not final boxarts and the latter only refer to German market so if you want to know these visit some other German sites like MV.

Nothing really interesting for me as a quarterscaler. The 48 scale GR.4 Tornado will please some and the 32nd Fw 190F-8 looks really stunning (Preview). I have alreade both ICM Do 215 releases.

OTOH there will be some news for most people .. .btw the Shackleton is no coop! (Airfix also has it on schedule http://www.airfix.com/shop/new-for-2015.html )

all the best!

I never thought I'd say this. But given the choice between a two new tools of the same bird (shackleton). One ROG and one Airfix. I think I'd rather have the airfix! Oh how the times they are a changing.

Hi Richard

You are probably right regarding accuracy. Full interior and newly designed crew members also sound nice ..

OTOH I was not impressed with Airfix' new 48 scale Spitfire Vb. It builds nothing better than Special Hobbys Vc and that is a short run kit....

cheers

I see a 1/144 scale early Flower Class Corvette to be released in Oct. 2015. I will be waiting for this one.

A new C-54 in 1/72. Maybe I can build the Candy Bomber now.

Hi Ross,

The one in Berlin was measured (IIRC even 3d scanned) so it should be perfect to build that markings. The Sprues look good but they were in a very early stage at the press conference, so photographs were not allowed.

all the best

What? Both Shackleton and Hawk T.1? Are we sure they are not Airfix? If not this means the start of a new Battle over Europe:} Anybody have a clue on Kiowa? Is it the old Matchbox or old Italeri? A really happy new year as it seems everyone:]

Looks set to be a good year of releases from Revell and Airfix.
It'll be interesting to see how the Shackletons compare with each other, but I have to say I'm leaning towards the Revell. Partly because I find the detail finer than Airfix have so far achieved and it will be probably be cheaper.
Also be able to finally get my mitts on a Victor, no way am I missing it this time around! The Corvette and reissue of the minelayer Ariadne are also very welcome. Means I can build one of those and leave my original Matchbox Ariadne in it's box. Also good to see the 1/72 U-Boat crew making a comeback as I need some to crew an E-Boat.

What I like to see in this lot are the 1/48th vehicles from Airfix. Also the ground crew and equipment.

This is Revells release schedule, I only mentioned Airfix in my post because both are releasing a Shackleton. There is a separate thread with Airfix's releases here: https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/229762&page=1
