I only swung 3. Pathetic, but had a basement on the go until August.

Not a single kit finished for my turbulent 2014, but I can post these:

Chuck,
With all those distractions, I'm amazed you got anything done

In all seriousness, while you didn't complete a single build for 2014, the amount of detail work and progress you've made on your 1/48 scale IAR 81C is simply astounding. And when one considers that it's a limited run resin kit too boot, it's even more impressive.

Not a very impressive year for me either but at least some...

Monogram 1/48 P-38M "Night Lightning" as kind of a retro-build. No intentions to do a "modern masterpiece", rather an experiment to see how good it would get with a reasonable amount of work. And it did get far better than I expected !

You can find a build blog here.

The Fine Molds Ki-100 in my usual 1/72 scale. An experiment with salt weathering and most of the markings painted on.

Build blog is here.

And finally a thing that has nothing at all to do with Aeroscale but that is a part of my finished collection for 2014 anyway, an armoured car. Really far away from my comfort zone and especially so the crew. This is the Bronco Staghound in 1/35 with a Nemrod crew and a single Wolf figure.

The figures weren't easy to paint but still a lot easier than I had expected and a lot more fun as well! They do look a bit coarse through the camera but for the naked eye they are perfectly OK even if I am far from a Calvin Tan!

Sorry for the piece of armour but I still felt I wanted to show it!

Well, 2014 was a milestone year for me. I finally bridged the generation gap, and started to build and complete some Jets. Up until this year, it's been strictly props.

As usual, I build just one kit at a time, and I build at a snail's pace. I try to put in the time, but the progress is always slow, slower, and slowest.

My year started with the completion of the GWH P-61A 2nd boxing that was part of Justin and mine's unofficial P-61 Buddy Build.

Next up was the incrediable new Academy 1/48 F-4B.

Then finally after a 7 month wait came the Grumman Campaign. I wanted to build something special for my collection, rather then another Wildcat or Hellcat, which as expected turned out to be the most popular subjects. So I went with the Hobby Boss 1/48 scale A-6E Intruder with Figthertown Decals.

My next build would be my 1st Alcad all NMF finish. So for this project naturally I decided on a kit that had it's fit issues, and would require a great deal of putty and sanding. Just what one needs to make a perfect NMF. So the Academy 1/48 scale P-38L build finally became a reality.

And that's my entire 2014 modeling year.

Joel! Those are the first of your models I have seen, they are absolutely beautiful! They aren't the easiest of builds so I think you should be proud finishing four of them!

Tony! A really nice collection, I found your 110 the other day.

Richard! You're far ahead of me when it comes to Vampires, mine is badly stuck !

Magnus,
Thank you for those really kind words. As you know I followed all your builds, and enjoyed each one of them to completion. Your Monogram P-38 Night fighter was a tough build of a very old kit, and the finished model really turned out excellent. Well done my friend.

Richard,
It's quality, not quantity that counts, and your trio are expertly done.

Tony,
What a truly exceptional build/collection of German WW11 aircraft. One is better then the next.

Tony so many completions! And I think I detect a theme...
Chuck quality over quantity, I've been following your work since before I joined aeroscale.
Magnus I love the Kawasaki. How was the Fine Molds? I've only built one of theirs but it was awesome. I'm also trying armour. A 1/72 Mk1 Female, surprisingly I'm growing fond of the smaller scale.
Joel you should have started on jets long ago. They're both perfect.

Bit of turbulent year for me so only managed to complete 2 of several I started.
The Airfix Airco DH.4 and the Smer rebox of Eduard's Fokker E.III, which was also my first serious attempt at rigging.

Which reminds me, I really should take some new pics of the Fokker as there were a couple of issues I needed to sort out when I took that photo.
I'm hoping to complete more this year.

Happy modelling.

Hi Tony,

I seem to recognize a pattern on your finished models

Hmm, I am not sure I will get mine together:

I am sure I forgot something..

I also finished HBs EMB-314 but sadly I ruined the canopy, still waiting for a replacement.

Several models are very advanced, but I'll count them for 2015.

All the best

I got my 2014 off to a good start, but then I messed it all up by going back to work.

Nothing, I finished absolutely nothing last year. House renovation took most of the attention. Being sick during end of the year holidays did not help either

Nevertheless, congratulations to all of you with those marvellous builds

For 2015, I plan to finish quite a few models. Having a few only neeing some decals, and a final layer of varnish this should not be that difficult to do

nothing finished,
Well done guys and gals
But 1 nearly I have a Hasegawa A1 Skyraider on the bench nearly finished.
Not bad given the past 12 months I've had.
A quick comment Jess what is that plane half way through your photos,it can't be a Pagasus coz they have wings.was it a try and sneak a non aircraft in and no one would notice .

good to see

Jessica,
Outstanding collection of Canadian civil aircraft. Love the Connie.

Jonathan,
Your 1/144 scale models are truly outstanding. I can't even see 1/72 scale any more, and you build half that scale with ease.
