Most important aircraft manufactureer/developer in WW2? Boeing, Grumman, Messers, Hawker, miitusbishi, Pratt and whitney, rolls-royce, Junkers etc etc?

How come aircraft model makers get important measurements and looks right on 1/48 planes but not larger scale aircraft?
