All the Bf 109s of Finemolds (the pic refers to a K4) have this step in the union of the fuselage and wing.
I always think that this was smooth and not have any step like this.
What do you think?

I've done an F from Fine Molds and your post prompted me to have a look at it: yep, it's there for sure!

I also had a look in Prien & Rodeike "Messerschmitt Bf 109 F, G, & K Series", a book that's absolutely filled to the brim with photos. I would say that Fine Molds probably has got this reasonably right. It is hard to tell exactly what this area looks like in reality but there is some kind of "anomaly" there that can be seen in many photos and that doesn't look unlike what Fine Molds have done in their kits. I would leave it as it is or if I found it disturbing, try to smooth it out a bit with fine sand paper. But totally wrong it certainly isn't!

Hope this helps!

Hi Magnus, I think the same that you, to smooth it out with a fine sand paper. I compare this kit with any 109 kit of AZmodel and I guess that this anomaly in the latter is better represented.
By the way I consulted the same Prien and Rodeike book and other of Kagero "Bf 109F. The ace maker" that have many good pics of this area, and really I´m not be able to see that angle like the Finemolds kit.

There's definitely a bulge there.

Perhaps it's not as angular as what Fine Moulds gave you, but it's really there.

I'll second that Jessie! And thanks for pointing this rather curious feature out to me, I've never noticed it before. And I will probably give it a light sanding whenever I get around to do more of the FM kits!

I saw this feature come to light in the Great Eduard Me109G6 Battle a few months ago. There's a bolt under that fairing, apparently. Looks like a nice little kit!

Look at the very known fairing in the E model but, and this is really strange, the same fairing that cover the bolt but in an F model when the fairing supposed in the F model should be the showed in the first pic in the kit or in the pic posted by Jessie.

The picture I posted is a G-2, which may explain the difference between it and the F you found.

The problem is that all the F´s pics that I have seen are like the G model and not like the E model. Minus this one obviously.

Perhaps the very early Fs had the E style wing root?

Well, at least 5 F0 had E model wings, according to some sources between 11 or 25 F0 were built. But I doubt that any of these arrived to an operational unit.
Which model is this of the pic?, who knows. At least not me.
