Hey,

After writing a review on this kit for Aeroscale, I decided to crack the box open for good and take a break from land vehicle modelling.

I started by assembling the cockpit and interior. This is definitely the weakest part of the kit as it seriously lacks details. The exterior seems to be a lot better, this is why I still have hope this would turn into a nice model, in the end, no matter what.

Below, the first images... Please let me know what you think!

Thanks!
Cristian

While assembling the interior, I realized the instructions made me drill several holes that are not used at all in the end and that those that are used are too far apart. It's too late for me but I hope it will help you building yours.

Cheers,
Cristian

Looks like it is coming along well. A couple pointers though.

The pilots' seats should be all black, cushion and metal parts. The whole cockpit area, everything forward of the step up in the floor should be flat black. This is for NVG use. The gray washes them out and makes them too bright.

The decals you have on the front of the seats should go on the back side of the seats, not the front.

The rear cabin is all shades of gray, including the seat fabric.

Also, almost forgot...The SH-60B is known as the Seahawk, not skyhawk

Thank you Gino for the great information!

To be honest I was so let down but the lack of interior details that I skipped in-depth research and just followed the Revell color indication. Since the cockpit is all done by now, I guess it'll have to stay as it is.

Still, thanks for the pointers!

Cheers,
Cristian

PS: It is of course a Seahawk not a Skyhawk
