Hello All
I really need some information! I am in the process of decaling a 1/72nd Wildcat as a Wake Island Defender. I have the excellent Yellow Wings decal set, they give you tricolor stripes for the prop blades but don't tell/show where or how they go on Please Help! Thanks, Gdub

Gdub,
This is one of the very few photos of VMF-211 wildcats and as you can see their in pretty bad shape. Naturally the part your interested in is particularly vague.

In the event they did have the tri-color prop warning bands, they would be in the following order:
From the prop spinner going out - Blue; Yellow; Red (red on the tip).
Hope this helps.

Thanks ya'll, I found a good shot of the Marine F3F at NAM, and it's black, yellow and red at the tip! Marine colors!!!!!
Would have saved me alot of searching had Yellow Wings put that in their placement guide! BTW, Their decals are excellent.

What about this one, also at the museum?

Sorry to disappoint you, but the dark glossy blue only looks black. If it was black, it would just disappear against the propeller blade, completely negating the reason it was painted on in the first place.
