I want to buy a couple of 1/72 scale aircraft kits for a couple of beginners and I just need to know a little about HobbyBoss's 1/72 scale aircraft kits.. I don't care about accuracy and level of detail as these kits are meant for beginners trying to get them interested in the hobby.. so the only thing I need to know is.. do the parts come together without any drama? I need a kit that is easy to build.. with parts that fir well so that it doesn't turn off the beginner and turn him away from the hobby.. And I'm looking at HobbyBoss because of the subjects available and their prices

Thanks for any input

The Hobbyboss 'Beginners' kits are quite easy, most parts fit together without much problem. a little bit of pressure may be needed for the odd part but they build into good little models. I have built a couple with no problem

Hi Hisham,
I've done a few of their 1/72 aircraft and found them to be trouble free, quick and easy to build. I can't think of any other kit more ideally suited for a beginner. If only they had been around in the mid 90's when I first started!

For the price you can't really go wrong with them.

Hi. I completely agree with the comments above. They come together really easy and have satisfactory surface detail but they generally lack any inward details like cockpits or exhaust pipes. I don't know what exactly you are interested in obviously but I strongly advise against trying HB's He-162 kit. That one is particularly a nightmare. On the other hand Zvezda also have a few similar "snap tite" kits in 1/72 WW2 subjects which are slightly better than HB and even cheaper if you know where to buy from. Good luck.

Thinking about it, the only bad one I ever tried was the Spitfire Vb. The canopy doesn't fit, too big and wide for fuselage, which spoils the building enjoyment of the model. It also lacks gear doors and there are some odd things sticking out of the bottom of the wings. I have heard it said that they're drop down landing lights, if so it's the first Spitfire kit to feature them!

Actually, I'm thinking of modern jets.. at least that's what the young kids are asking me for.. probably because of what's been happening in Egypt lately with ISIS and all that, people are being more and more exposed to our armed forces, and they heard that Egypt is supposed to be buying some French Rafale's and stuff

So, I assume the modern jets are OK?
